We decided we needed a mid-semester break, so we flew out to Halifax, Nova Scotia! Everything was so terribly beautiful that I am having withdrawal. Keep in mind this was a three day trip. Here is a collection of gems from the getaway to Canada’s Atlantic playground.
Firstly, can I mention again how beautiful the East coast is; unbelievable.

Aside from seeing the sites, and recreating Canadian history, we also ate some amazing seafood, which included: Lobster poutine (it’s as delicious as it sounds) at The Fish Shop, the best Ceaser I’ve ever had at Stayner’s Wharf, and as many portions of Fish & Chips possible within a three day timeframe. We also found this awesome candy shop, Freak Lunchbox, which had my favourite childhood taffy, among other goodies.

After spending some time in Halfiax, we decided to venture onto a coastal road trip to Peggy’s Cove (it was dangerous!) and Lunenburg, a UNESCO site that’s one of the few sustained ship building towns.

Needless to say, if only the ocean spanned wider, and I knew how to swim.

This project exposes the chair as a placeholder of it’s users untold reality. The research began in observing antique memory keepers, such as jewelery boxes and photo boxes, and how to incorporate them into a found antique chair.

While working on project I was reminded of my childhood ‘wall of secrets.’ The stories found in this basement out-cove began to shape a new interpretation of the found chair.

The premise of this project was to create a resonant chamber that exhibits the experience of particular song - St. Germain’s Montego Bay Spleen.
I watch Hugo last night, and I was reminded of how awesome this movie is. Hugo was awesome too ;)

It was a friends birthday recently, and I decided to make him some bite sized birthday treats. Super easy, and they look super cute too.

You just make some traditional boxed cake, and combine it with some icing. After this is done, you cool them off, and dip them in either melted chocolate or candy coating.

Obviously, there are variations you could have. I made the cake with coconut milk, and combined coconut flakes into pops. Pretty easy though.
Also, I had no way of packaging them, so I appropriated the cake box to make a gift package.

Yum!
